Long Lost Friend (Update)

I received this message today...

And it was the exact same message that has been going around.

Noticed it was sent out of a +62 number and is expecting you to reply to a +852 number.

Means this scam is STILL ACTIVE NOW.

But this scam is sort of quite obvious...

  1. They tell you cannot return to sg.. but sending you from a +62 number.. so where the hell are they based huh?
  2. Send you photo say havent heard from you long time. My friends who havent seen me dun send me photo unless we started chatting again and say I asked.. how old is your kid now... or they have something new in their life to share like a new partner.. its just not logical to send you a photo for no reason other than to bait you
  3.  If she can send out the message using old number, why need to contact her using the new number?
I read somewhere that scams are filled with loopholes so that they filter away the people who are more careful because it takes alot less effort to scam money out of people who are not careful.

Anyway, beware, beware....

Management Team Scam

You know how it is if you received an email from your boss, you are likely to follow instructions? Well, it has lately come to my attention that scammers are impersonating management leaders and going to respective employees to ask them to send information over.  A friend working in finance said she has received a WA message from a regional management leader in her company. She was surprised initially because she was wondering how he had gotten her personal number.  But the profile photo was indeed a photo of that particular leader and so she let her guard down and engaged him a little by asking him if he was in town. Following that, he actually told her... "I will like to inform you that we had a meeting with the board of directors." "Decisions have been taken at the level of our subsidiaries" "I'd like to share a letter concerning you personally." "Do you have a personal email?" That was when she got suspicious. So she started to ignore hi...
