Online Game Scams

Image result for online game scams

Lately, I heard about a new format in scams from a friend.

I think it is some sort of scam that works on people's greed to get more without doing much.

As always with anything online, if it sounds too good to be true, it definitely is too good to be true:)

So according to my friend, the scam goes like this...

  1. Someone will send you a link to join this group chat and in the group chat, there will be people telling you how you can make use of Online Game Sites to make money!
  2. They will then tell you that you can do so easily because there is a "teacher" who will teach you how to do so because the teacher found a weakness in the programming or a bug in the website. All you need to do is to follow the teacher and it is 100% will make money... they encourage you to start with a small amount first....
  3. The teacher has fixed timings where they will come into the chat room to teach you how to play the games... and then people will start trying and share that they have made small amounts of money.
  4. At this point, the hard sell comes in and they will sell you the idea of investing larger amounts since you already saw how easy it is to make money. They even have TESTIMONIALS of successful cases of people who made tonnes of money and are enjoying life right now...
  5. If you do invest, you will find the website crashes and you will be unable to take out your "winnings".
In any case, I think it is just prudent to remember that if it sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true.

I always thought that scammers only target people who are buying things online. Boy, was I wrong!:) Some time ago, a friend said she needed help to sell a branded wallet and I offered to help her post an ad online. Shortly after I posted the ad online, someone replied! Buying A Car Online? Beware of SCAMS!

Hubby dreams of changing his car all the time.. so once in a blue moon, when he is in the mood, he will do his research to keep up to date with the LATEST car prices. Today, we found two very cheap and good deals online and he was so excited. The two cars listed were diff models.. one is a BMW and the other one is a Merc.. the BMW Series 5 was selling for $25,000 AED (since we are based in Dubai now. Just fyi, it is abt $6850 USD) and the Merc E300 was going for $40,000AED. According to the ads, both cars were brand new and in excellent conditions. But you see, after all the scams we have seen, we know tat if you see a deal that is too good to be true, it probably IS too good to be true!:P Just for the fun of it, he emailed both of them (with a small flicker of hope tat this is a legit steal). Within an hour, the BMW guy replied.. -------------------------------------------------- From: rftkh@hotmail.com To: hubbysname@hotmail.com Subject: RE: BMW 523i M-Kit 2008 ventilated seats,s...
