Boo Hoo! I Just Lost My Chance To Win 500,000 Dollars!

Another personal experience...

Too lazy to recap and here is my complain letter to my mobile service provider....

Thank god I watched a TV program that talked about how a girl lost several thousand dollars when she recieved a message saying that she won a million dollars and was given a number to call back. Seemed like the same modus operandi. and when you do call back, they will keep asking you to send little bit of money for them to send you your WINNINGs...

Btw, the person who called me got upset and asked me to "Go to hell!" I think they are probably all mixed up in their heads.. Angels like me go to heaven.. CONMEN LIKE THEM WHO CON PEOPLE"S MONEY GO TO HELL... HAHAHA:)

I would like to report a dubious call being made today on 9 May 2013 at 11.25am.

Today, someone called my mobile number and told me that my XXX Recharge Card has won a prize. He spoke with a somewhat African Accent. He said I won $500,000and there were many prizes waiting to be won like gold, bmw, etc. I told him I did not take part in any lucky draw and they repeated that I have won $500,000 prize.

Then, they gave me a number and asked me to take out my SIM card to check if the number is the same as the number on my SIM Card.

They told me that if the number is the same, I should call them back on the number +971 502039119.

At this point, they asked where I am from. Being suspicious as I have heard of similar scams, I asked them "Why should I tell you? What has this got to do with whether I win or not?"

And the man got upset and scolded me, "Go to hell, you bastard" which all the more made me sure it is a scam.

Please investigate. I could hear more people calling in the background to informing other people about the win about the prize.

I wonder why and how they could get my number and how they knew my number was a XXX Recharge Card.

I am considering making a poilce report as well.

Please revert.

Yours Sincerely,
Angel Peng

You Run The Risk Of Meeting Scammers Even If You Are Selling Things Online!

I always thought that scammers only target people who are buying things online. Boy, was I wrong!:) Some time ago, a friend said she needed help to sell a branded wallet and I offered to help her post an ad online. Shortly after I posted the ad online, someone replied! He first asked if the wallet is still available. When I replied that it was, he sent this to me: ------------------------------------------------ From: Dan Webster ddwebtt@yahoo.com To: Angel Peng Sent: Sunday, 22 July 2012, 13:01 Subject: Re: Preloved Genuine Brown Gucci Wallet For Sale Ok! DBS Bank Scam

Today I received a call 87592694... which looked like a normal local phone number.. BUT the caller had Filipino accent told me they are from DBS bank. (RED FLAG 1)   Then she informed me that someone had used my acc to transfer money to buy a gaming laptop and asked me if I bought any gaming laptops. I told her NO. And then she kept asking me this same number cos I gave a one word reply. Cos I think most people will panic and want to check this or that.. and she just asked me like 3-4 times till I asked her back "How many times do I have to say NO to you?"  (RED FLAG 2)   Then she said now that she confirmed I didnt make the purchase, she will have to undo the transaction by asking me for my name to verify it. To make me trust her, she asked me if my number is 1234567. Now the thing is.. that is my number but it is my work phone number and it is not linked to any of my banking accounts. But i still wanted to see where this goes... so she asked me for my name to verify my ...

Dating App Scams

I was trying to start dating again after a failed relationship and some friends suggested using a dating app. Turns out that that was the BEST and also the WORST suggestion ever. The BEST because I did eventually find Mr Right on the app.. BUT, not before I met tonnes of scammers online. While I didnt lose any money, it was an absolute waste of time and energy for me and it was such hard work to filter them out! I really almost gave up! Anyway, I thought since I already put in the work, why not share my FINDINGS and SOP so other women who are interested in dating online can benefit from it? Once you have decided which app you will like to use, one of the most important things is the profile that you put up. Do take note to avoid the following things: Do not tell them upfront if you are widowed or divorced or recently broken up (scammers love people with these profiles so you end up wasting alot more time) Do not put just a "pretty photo" and do not use any photo w...
