Easy Money Scams

Recently, there have been some new scams that go aeound promising easy money.

First they will send u a message promising easy money.  Either an easy job or some easy investment.

Then, they will invite you to join a chatgroup in platforms like LINE  or whatsapp.

After that they will ask u to do some simple transaction at somr website link they provide to earn money and at the start you will see some returns.  When you get greedy and start transacting in larger amounts,  they will take your money and close the site down.

Actually pretty similar to online game scams

DBS Bank Scam

Today I received a call 87592694... which looked like a normal local phone number.. BUT the caller had Filipino accent told me they are from DBS bank. (RED FLAG 1)   Then she informed me that someone had used my acc to transfer money to buy a gaming laptop and asked me if I bought any gaming laptops. I told her NO. And then she kept asking me this same number cos I gave a one word reply. Cos I think most people will panic and want to check this or that.. and she just asked me like 3-4 times till I asked her back "How many times do I have to say NO to you?"  (RED FLAG 2)   Then she said now that she confirmed I didnt make the purchase, she will have to undo the transaction by asking me for my name to verify it. To make me trust her, she asked me if my number is 1234567. Now the thing is.. that is my number but it is my work phone number and it is not linked to any of my banking accounts. But i still wanted to see where this goes... so she asked me for my name to verify my ...

Dating App Scams

I was trying to start dating again after a failed relationship and some friends suggested using a dating app. Turns out that that was the BEST and also the WORST suggestion ever. The BEST because I did eventually find Mr Right on the app.. BUT, not before I met tonnes of scammers online. While I didnt lose any money, it was an absolute waste of time and energy for me and it was such hard work to filter them out! I really almost gave up! Anyway, I thought since I already put in the work, why not share my FINDINGS and SOP so other women who are interested in dating online can benefit from it? Once you have decided which app you will like to use, one of the most important things is the profile that you put up. Do take note to avoid the following things: Do not tell them upfront if you are widowed or divorced or recently broken up (scammers love people with these profiles so you end up wasting alot more time) Do not put just a "pretty photo" and do not use any photo w...
